Fresh tuna is full of amazing health benefits, from being rich in omega 3’s, a bountiful supply of B vitamins, a great source of minerals phosphorous, selenium and potassium and being really low in calories. What more could you ask for! Serve this with a big pile of veggies or sliced through a nice big salad. Yummo!
4 tuna fillets
Juice 1 lemon
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1 tbs sesame oil
1/4 cup poppy seeds (you can just use extra sesame seeds if you like)
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1-2 tsp coconut oil – for cooking
In a container mix the lemon juice, sesame oil and garlic and pop the tuna fillets in to marinate. Give them a good mix to coat then pop them in the fridge for at least 30mins. In a bowl add the sesame and poppy seeds and mix. Remove your tuna from the marinade, dunk in the seed mix to coat each piece and place aside. Heat your pan nice and hot, add the coconut oil and pop the tuna in, 2 mins on each side should do the trick depending on how thick your fillets are. You want them to still be nice and pink in the middle!
